Many Tasmanians enjoy hunting

There are areas where you can go hunting on land that we manage, during daylight hours.

To go hunting on our land, you need:

  • the right permit for the animals you wish to hunt
  • a current firearms licence
  • a permission to shoot

Areas where you can hunt can be found on the Access Map and recreational hunting maps.

Where can you hunt?

You can only hunt in some areas of the land we manage, during daylight hours.

This helps us manage:

  • safety around our forest work
  • areas that are leased
  • the environment of each area

We are working on new maps to show where you’re allowed to go hunting.

You can find the current areas you’re allowed to hunt on in our Access Map

We will be adding more areas where you can hunt in the future. You’ll be able to find these on the Access Map.

Please note: We won’t give you keys to access land behind locked gates.
