Access & Permits

Everybody is welcome to visit our forests. You can enjoy the beautiful landscape by bushwalking or mountain biking. You can also collect firewood or go hunting in some areas. You can get permits to collect firewood and go hunting online or in one of our offices. Get in touch with your local office for more information.

Permits

Collecting Firewood

There are places across Tasmania where you can collect your own firewood. Before you start collecting, you need to buy a firewood permit. You can buy one online or in our offices.

Hunting

There are areas across Tasmania where you can hunt for recreation. To go hunting on our land, you need: a game licence or permit, a firearms licence and a permission to shoot.

Leases and Licences

We can give people legal licences and leases to use our land for things like: harvesting trees, having a building or business on our land and collecting bush food commercially.

Forest Activity Permits

If you’re planning an event or activity in one of our forests, you need to get a permit. Some of the events and activities you need a permit for include: concerts, weddings, sporting events and more.
