Diogenes Road 1 and Diogenes Road 3 and associated spurs

In the interest of public safety, Diogenes Road1 and Diogenes Road 3 and associated spurs will be temporarily closed to conduct forest harvesting operations on Permanent Timber Production Zone Land.

The roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the operation, excluding traffic authorised by Sustainable Timber Tasmania.

These operations will involve felling trees along Diogenes Road 1 and Diogenes Road 3 and associated spurs and processing and loading timber on associated landings.

The Forest Management Act 2013 at Clause 23(b)(2) provides:

“The Forest Manager may close a forest road or any section of forest road either permanently or temporarily to all traffic, or to a class of traffic, if the Forest Manager considers that the closure is necessary or expedient –

(a) for the purposes of discharging its responsibilities; or

(b) in the interests of safety.

Harvesting operations are integral to Sustainable Timber Tasmania discharging its responsibilities.

Signage is in place to inform road users.

Blackwater Spur 7 & Spur 7/5 have a 10 Tonne load limit applied due to failed log culverts. The issue will be resolved in the coming weeks.

Riseborough Road between Spur 5 & Spur 6

Riseborough Road is currently closed to all traffic between Spur 5 & Spur 6 due to a failing log culvert. Access is still available from both ends of Riseborough Road to these Spur roads

Loosemores Road – Temporary restricted access

In the interest of public safety, Sustainable Timber Tasmania will temporarily restrict access on a section of Loosemores Road to conduct harvesting operations on Permanent Timber Production Zone land.

Operations will begin on Tuesday 15th July 2025, and the expected duration of the operation is approximately 6 weeks.

Extended delays may occur from Monday to Friday during operational hours.

Signage will be in place to inform road users of restricted access and expected delays.

In the interest of public safety, Plenty Link 1 Road, and associated Spur roads (Plenty Link 1-3 and Plenty Link 1-3-1) will be temporarily closed to conduct forest harvesting operations on Permanent Timber Production Zone Land.

The roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the operation, excluding traffic authorised by Sustainable Timber Tasmania until 30th June 2025.

These operations will involve felling trees along Plenty Link 1 Road, and associated Spur roads (Plenty Link 1-3 and Plenty Link 1-3-1) and processing and loading timber on associated landings.
