Evercreech Road
In the interest of public safety, Evercreech Road will be temporarily closed to conduct forest harvesting operations on Permanent Timber Production Zone Land.
The roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the operation, excluding traffic authorised by Sustainable Timber Tasmania.
This temporary closure is anticipated to be in place until the 30th of March 2026, subject to unforeseen delays.
These operations will involve felling trees along Evercreech Road and processing and loading timber on associated landings.
The Forest Management Act 2013 at Clause 23(b)(2) provides:
“The Forest Manager may close a forest road or any section of forest road either permanently or temporarily to all traffic, or to a class of traffic, if the Forest Manager considers that the closure is necessary or expedient –
(a) for the purposes of discharging its responsibilities; or
(b) in the interests of safety.
Harvesting operations are integral to Sustainable Timber Tasmania discharging its responsibilities.
Signage is in place to inform road users.
Apiary Road
Due to a structural failure between Spur 6 and Spur 7, a 10-tonne load limit is now in effect on Apiary Road. Road users are asked to plan accordingly.
Wyena Road and Associated Spurs
In the interest of public safety, 4.8km of Wyena Road and associated spurs will be temporarily closed to conduct forest harvesting operations on Permanent Timber Production Zone Land.
The roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the operation, excluding traffic authorised by Sustainable Timber Tasmania.
Newhaven Spur 2-1
There is a load limit of 5 tonne on Newhaven Spur 2-1
Harry’s Link and Dyers Marsh Road
In the interest of public safety, 7.2kn of Dyers Marsh Road and 12km of Harry's Link and associated spurs will be temporarily closed to conduct forest harvesting operations on Permanent Timber Production Zone Land.
The roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the operation, excluding traffic authorised by Sustainable Timber Tasmania.
Oakwood Road and Associated Spurs Restricted Access
In the interest of public safety, 2.3kms of Oakwood Road and associated spurs will be temporarily closed to conduct forest harvesting operations on Permanent Timber Production Zone Land.
The roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic for the duration of the operation, excluding traffic authorised by Sustainable Timber Tasmania.
Hylands Road
In the interest of public safety, on Hylands Road approximately 6.4 kilometers from the junction of the Arthur Highway, located east of the township of Murdunna, the road will be physically blocked due to the failure of a bridge in that area. Signage and tape will be clearly placed approximately 100 meters before and at the bridge.
