This personal information protection statement applies to Sustainable Timber Tasmania’s website. It doesn’t apply to any other website that we link to. We recommend you read the relevant privacy statements of those websites.
We value the privacy of your personal information. We are committed to protecting any information we collect and use. The law that applies is the Personal Information Protection Act 2004.
Sustainable Timber Tasmania does not keep a record of your personal information when you use our website. We will only keep a record your email address and/or contact details if you contact us directly, and we will only use this information for the purposes of your enquiry. We may collect statistical information when you use our website. We can’t identify you when we do this. We collect this information to help us understand how our website is used. This information helps us make our website better.
We have a range of methods in place to protect any personal information we receive. We use technology, policies, rules and measures to prevent:
- unauthorised access
- improper use
- unsanctioned alterations
- unlawful or accidental destruction or loss.
We will not disclose your personal information to other State institutions and authorities except if required or allowed by law.

Right to information
The Right to Information Act 2009 commenced on 1 July 2010 and it provides access to information held by Government bodies. Under this law, we must make information available to the public through proactive disclosure. This means that, routinely, we make information available to help the public understand what we do and how we do it. Whistleblower and public interest disclosure policy
Sustainable Timber Tasmania (STT) is committed to conducting business ethically, impartially, and transparently, and in a manner that manages conflicts of interest. STT recognises and is committed to the aims and objectives of the Public Interest Disclosures Act 2002 (the Act) and the additional whistleblower protections introduced in the Treasury Laws Amendment (Enhancing Whistleblower Protections) Act 2019 (Corporations Act) (the Commonwealth Act and together, the Legislation).
This policy applies to all employees of STT, Directors, Management and Officers.
